Personally I think that this movie failed as a comedy. It's just too strange in the beginning when there should be laughs and then it becomes much more the drama after the first part. As a drama however this movie is quite good however, and Bianca is really not the focus of the movie. Lars, played by Ryan Gosling (fantastic actor as always), and the rest of the small Ontario town are the true focus of this movie. It is about how they react to it, and their reaction is the opposite of what you would think.
Going along with his delusion the whole town accept Lars delusion and play along in the hope that it will help him get better. They take her to church, treat her at the doctors office, she gets a couple jobs and the community truly takes a shine to her.
I don't really know what else to say about this movie. Its a strange, unique, touching, awkward and interesting drama with great performances by the cast. I'm not even sure who I would recommended this movie to, but I think anyone would enjoy it.
