Last night I decided it was time to dive back into the world
of Naziploitation once again with Salon Kitty. As always, any naziploitation film is
rife with controversy but this one is actually grounded on some interesting
historical facts. While sure all the excess of sex, nudity and Nazism is bound
to ruffle some feathers, it is interesting to see a film that doesn’t exactly
draw to many lines, and is in fact an Italian production. Overall, for a film I
can’t compare with anything else, I would say Salon Kitty is quite an
interesting watch.
After watching Sharon Stone's outstanding performance
in Total Recall I decided to check out Basic Instinct again. I'm not
sure if I've seen it before, Michael Douglas crime movies seem to kinda muddle
together. I do know that I have seen Basic Instinct 2, although I can't
even remember who is in that one. Either way, Basic Instinct is one of
the best crime thrillers there are.
I glanced through a review of this months ago, on The
Wolfman Cometh. As The Wolfman said,
Little Deaths is by no means a movie one will watch and enjoy, you will be
uncomfortable throughout, and possibly disgusted or disturbed, but that is what
it intended. Sometime a movie isn’t made for your entertainment, it is made to
make you want to forget everything you saw, and that by no means detracts from
how good it is.
I went to the theatre the other night and ended up seeing American Reunion. The theatre was almost packed, there was quite a bit of laughter from the audience. What was most interesting however was the age group of the audience. Yes there was a few teenagers here and there, but what surprised me was that the majority of the theatre might have been around 30 or more, which shows that truly, American Reunion was a reunion of sorts.
A Good Old Fashioned Orgy is definitely a movie that a lot of people misunderstood going into it, and as such, the reviews were all over the board. This comedy uses the orgy simply as a device with which to create a story about a group of friends and there relationship.
Most people will never venture far off the theater showed, well advertised, blockbuster budget movies that everyone has heard about. Those who search a little may come across many great foreign and indie films. People are always talking about classic movies and how everyone still watches them today. But it is not until someone ventures quite far off of Hollywood boulevard and into the dark woods that they will find the likes of Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS.
